The Lady Gardeners Club
The Lady Gardeners Club is the passion project of our Co-Founder Shannon. Shannon discovered her own love of gardening by accident in her early 20s and loves nothing more than to inspire other women to give growing a go. Through gardening, Shannon discovered that you really can do anything you set your mind to, from starting a podcast and editing every episode herself to building a 35ft polytunnel in gale-force winds. She aspires to share this with as many women as possible by creating a community, hosting a variety of events and bringing like-minded people together. Thus, we introduce to you this brand new club.
The Lady Gardeners Club is for plants and for people, showing women that there is a very real place for them in the garden. Lady Gardener events bring women together, addressing the social isolation that many women experience and offering them the opportunity to try something new. This project is designed to boost confidence through sharing plant-based practices, DIY and copious amounts of tea and cake. The club will run on one Sunday per month at Home Farm, next door to Arlington Court National Trust, for 2 hours and each week will be dedicated to something a little different, from sowing seed and building raised beds to pouring concrete plant pots, flower pounding and pickling your own vegetables. You can book tickets for the sessions throughout 2024 here.
In addition to the monthly meet-ups there will be at least two organised trips per year which attendees are welcome to book onto where we may visit beautiful gardens, innovative garden centres, fabulous flower shows and more. The following dates are booked into the calendar for 2024:
